24-hour emergency
Welcome
The pilot bearings use ball bearings, roller bearings, or needle bearings in their construction. The pilot bearing supports and centers the transmission input shaft and clutch disc. When the clutch is disengaged, the pilot bearing allows the flywheel to maintain engine RPM while the input shaft is slowing down and stopping.
Loud whining or grinding noises are more apparent when the engine and transmission are cold. Select the first gear and begin to release the clutch pedal. If a noise is heard at the point of the clutch taking up, then the pilot bearing is most likely the issue.
Wear and tear.
Maintenance is not up kept.
Low oil level.
Contaminated oil
Wrong-grade oil used.
Mixing of different oil types used.
Corrosion or rust build-up.
The pilot bearing was not installed or removed correctly or the correct tools were not used.
A flywheel is a gear-like metal disc or plate which is between the transmission and the clutch. It works together with the clutch to receive and supply power to and from the transmission and the engine.
The gears are slipping.
You will smell a burning smell.
The clutch vibrates such as shaking or trembling.
Worn out or a bad starter.
Debris buildup.
Overheating from clutch slipping.
Maintenance is not up kept.
The clutch brake has a circular disc with a friction surface that connects to the input shaft of the transmission between the release bearing and transmission. The purpose of the clutch brake is to stop or slow the input shaft from turning.
Loud grinding metal sound.
You have to force the transmission into first.
Wear and tear.
Constantly starting and stopping.
The clutch linkage is not properly adjusted.
